Don’t forget about the ANZAC Day public holiday on 25th April!
???? Important Reminder: Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday are all public holidays, meaning public holiday pay rates apply. Employers, ensure you’re paying your staff correctly according to the Award’s penalty rates.
???????? Understanding Employee Rights: Remember, employees must have a genuine choice to work on public holidays even if they would normally be rostered on that day. Requests should be reasonable, and employees have the right to refuse unreasonable requests. Ensure your payroll system reflects proper payment for public holidays.

Fair Pay for Public Holidays: If a public holiday falls on a day an employee would normally work and they don’t work on the public holiday, they should receive their normal base rate of pay for that day. If they do work on the public holiday, its essential to adhere to award penalty rates to ensure fair compensation for your staff.
